Having built a following with songs she released herself while still in school, Lauren Ann began working with producer Declan Legge (Jealous of the Birds, Ciaran Lavery), who helped shape her raw song-writing into fully realised productions. The Northern Irish alt indie-pop artist has now signed with label Faction Records the same day she left school, and has released new single, Lucy. She spoke with The Fountain about the response to the track and what she has in store.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Lucy?
The reception has been amazing! I’ve been so appreciative and grateful to be featured on so many amazing music blogs and radio shows with this track.
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
Lucy is ultimately about a love triangle among friends.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?
So far my plan is to keep working on the EP and play as many live shows as possible!
TF: When can we next expect a live show from you now that venues and gigs are kicking off again?
I have a few gigs lined up throughout the rest of the year but my next gig will be in The Speakeasy in Belfast on October 22nd with Villa In France as well as some other really talented artists!
