Scottish alt-pop newcomer Ali & The Parade has released of latest single Losing Sleep. This exciting new material from Glasgow-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Ali Robertson is written about the early stages of a new relationship. The Fountain caught with Ali to discuss the response to the new single and plans for the rest of 2021, which includes some live shows.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Losing Sleep?
The reaction to the new single has been pretty unbelievable. The response from fans has been way more than I could have ever asked for and the song has reached a whole new audience after receiving a bunch of spins on BBC Radio on release week. The song received Single of the Week on The Afternoon Show on BBC Radio Scotland and got a spin on BBC Radio Scotlands BBC Introducing Show the day it came out. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better reaction. It’s always a good feeling hearing your stuff get airplay!
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
A fun, fresh slap in the face of a song….about me not getting enough sleep and being grumpy about it.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?
We’ll be releasing the rest of the Losing Sleep EP and then playing some shows in and around Glasgow. I can’t wait to play these songs in front of people and connecting with an audience again!
TF: When can we next expect a live show from you now that venues and gigs are kicking off again?
There’s a few things in the pipeline that we’re working on behind the scenes that we’ll hopefully be able to announce very soon!
