Known for their hooky quirky post modern sound, Shropshire’s Bartells emerged in 2012 headlining local festivals promoting their debut self funded EP. The Bartells are led by the affable charismatic Alfie Edwards with what seems to be a split lead vocal set up with the coolest rock n roll name in history Mr Jonny Milano, With The Dazzler thumping out his bass lines alongside veteran drummer Robby Boy Evans. With new single, Alibi, out, The Fountain caught up with the band to discuss new music and 2021 plans.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Alibi?

It’s been really positive, we’ve added a new member to the band to beef things up a little and the extra guitar certainly adds a more dynamic edge to our sound.

TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?

Sure , it’s a loud and proud catchy ear worm.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?

We are just hoping to get out there and promote this new single and squeeze another out before the madness of Christmas starts.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

Favourite venue? That’s tricky! We could name a few, but instead I’ll say we enjoy the festival circuit the best, a new town, new people each time and it’s nice to catch up with new bands and their music.
