Following on from his previous efforts earlier this year with EP Echoes: Volume One, Edinburgh-based musician JORDAN has shown wonderful progression with his song-writing and production capabilities. Eternal Nurture at its core is a love song that embodies a fuller sound from the previous material. He spoke with The Fountain about the reception to the new music as well as plans for later in the year.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Eternal Nurture?
Very supportive especially the critiques I’ve received on how forward my sound has progressed with this piece compared to the Echoes material I released earlier this year. A lot of nice things being said. I’ve only shared the track with a few people in my circle on top of the radio plays. It’s been getting on Amazing Radio in the states and in the UK, but even then the reception thus far has been great.
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
A transcendently intimate love song right to its core.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, I note an LP?
Finishing the album is the main focus. The structure, the sonics, just getting everything over the finish line now. I’m working on a couple other things that I can’t talk about right now but they’re shaping up nicely too. The LP itself is almost done, all the songs are there. Just need to get into the studio with Ki and fine tune a couple of things here and there.
TF: When can we next expect a live show from you now that venues and gigs are kicking off again?
January, 100%. Arranging a few things with the venue at the moment to make sure everything goes ahead as planned but it’s going to be special. It’s going to double as an album listening party of sorts but more of an “experience” rather than your typical get together to listen to the music. It’s got to be done in true JORDAN fashion of course.
Eternal Nurture set for release on Spotify and Apple Music 30th September.
