Grammy-nominated Australian singer- songwriter Jess Chalker has released her melodic mantra of a new single, Don’t Fight It. With this and word of a new album, The Fountain caught up with Jess to discuss her plans for the year and the response to her current release.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Don’t Fight It?
The reception has been great so far; the track seems to have resonated with people everywhere who have been sharing and streaming it. The song has a very positive message and I think people might need that right now, especially after the year we’ve all had.
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
A feelgood throwback jam that will make you feel like everything is gonna be OK.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, I note an LP?
Yep. I’ll be releasing my debut album as a solo artist, Hemispheres, on 5 November, via my own imprint, 528 Records. The focus single/video, Stupid Trick was out on 21 Sept, with a third single/visualiser due a month later.
TF: When can we next expect a live show from you now that venues and gigs are kicking off again?
Watch this space as I’ll be announcing an album launch very soon in London this November!
