BARBUDO deliver pop-funk with polished musicianship and pizzazz from their studio in the south of England. Brothers Ben and Harry Stanworth have taken inspiration from the pioneers of funk, soul and disco to give their contemporary sound a classic and stylish vibe that oozes charm and millennial zeitgeist. With new single, Sunshine, out, The Fountain caught up with them to discuss new music and their plans for the year.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Sunshine?
It has been great so far. Sunshine has become a fan favourite at shows so people are glad to hear the recorded version.
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
A disco trip to a sunny beach where all is not as it seems.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?
We want to get a video out for Sunshine plus another single released with a few shows to boot!
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
Our favourite venue has got to be The Victoria in Dalston – we have had some great shows there!
