Medium Love is the latest incarnation of Californian born, London based KC Underwood. After the demise of his previous project Big Deal, (Mute, Fat Cat) the songwriter took a break from the good life but soon began hearing music in his dreams. With new single, Unibummer, out, The Fountain caught up with KC to discuss the response to the new music and plans for the rest of the year.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Unibummer?
So far so good! I think there is something about it that is landing right with people at this very strange moment in time. That’s all I want to do with music is connect with people, hope it spreads. Good things should spread too!
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
Hope in despair.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?
To enjoy the summer as much as possible! I’m recording a lot, and hoping to fit some live shows in there as well.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
Ohh, I love KOKO in Camden. It’s beautiful and has history and sounds massive. It’s also massive, so maybe a little ways down the line for us. The next place we most look forward to playing is the George Tavern in Whitechapel. It’s beautiful as well and has a great vibe.
