Hotly tipped Jazz vocalist Georgia Cecile returns with her boldest release to date, the emotional ballad He Knew How To Love. Teaming up with film director Rianne White, the cinematic music video represents two young women at the height of the game, in association with PRS Women Make Music. Georgia spoke with The Fountain to discuss her new music as well as plans for further in the year.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to He Knew How To Love?
The reception has been incredible. I’ve had a lot of touching messages about how they have been moved by the song and how the lyrics have deeply resonated. That to me is the greatest success of all.
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
A hymnal cinematic soundscape, which explores themes of paternal love and sacrifice.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?
I’m excited to release my next singe and to follow up with my album release later in the year. I have a few exciting shows planned too, I can’t wait to perform live again.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
My favourite venue was always The Blue lamp in Aberdeen! Such a cool intimate vibe in there. I also loved performing at the Royal Concert Hall as part of Celtic Connections festival. I’m really looking forward to my album launch gig on 16 October at the Queens Hall in Edinburgh! Going to be so much fun!
