One of LA’s fastest-rising new bands, Cuffed Up, have just recently signed to Royal Mountain Records. With plans for a full EP and a string of singles with the Canadian imprint, the band lead the way with their new track, Canaries. With this in mind, The Fountain caught up with the band to discuss the response to the track and these plans for the forthcoming future.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Canaries?

We’ve had lots of awesome feedback on the video. The views just shot up on YouTube and we’re elated that so many people are into it! Sapphire did an amazing job directing/putting the vid together.

TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?

It’s a menacing yet earnest reaction to long term shame and it’s wrapped up in our favorite song to play live.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?

We’ve got more music on the way, a tour with the Joy Formidable, possibly some one off shows, and more world domination scheming.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you?

Our favourite spot to play and that we called home was The Bootleg in Los Angeles which sadly just announced its closing this summer. I suppose we’ll have to see what this new world of venues has to offer and find a new venue home!
