Lurgan based indie alternative artist BECAH has released a new single and accompanying video; Reminders. The second single from her upcoming debut EP Freak due out later this year, Reminders uses BECAH’s hypnotically tender vocal, backed up by electronic synths, electric guitar and vulnerable lyrics to tell of her experiences, digging deep and drawing into those darker parts of us we like to keep hidden away. She spoke with The Fountain about the reception it’s received so far as well as her hopes to perform at festivals soon.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Reminders?

I’ve been really chuffed with the reception so far. Great reviews and a lot of lovely messages of support so it’s been a great release week!

TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?

A song about the struggles after a breakup to block out all the memories we must forget.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?

I have my debut EP release set for the end of the year so we’ll be working on the video for the next single from it, Freak, very soon!

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

The Accidental Theatre is a really lovely intimate venue to play in! I’m really looking forward to gigging at festivals and hopefully overseas at some stage!
