Anna Wolf has claimed her space as a globally-relevant artist with her new EP, Romance Was Born. The five-track release eludes easy classification, with the South African-born, London-based artist moving with conviction through music that is dramatic and orchestral, hushed and textured, and other-worldly and rhythmic. She spoke with The Fountain about her fans’ response to the new music and plans for later in the year.
TF: You have a new EP out, what has the reception been like to Romance Was Born?
Social media has been a great way of tracking the response and thus far it has been received well. It’s wonderful to hear how the music is resonating with the audience, especially new fans.
TF: How would you sum up the EP in one sentence?
Invigorating with a cinematic twist.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?
I am currently acting in a feature film and working on an Anna Wolf experience tour.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
Apollo in Hammersmith is probably my favourite venue to play at. The next venue I would like to play at would be anywhere!…….With the current state of the world, it’s all about just playing live again, no matter the venue.
