Growing up in a creative family, Allie Marie Hunter has been surrounded by singers, songwriters, musicians and dancers for her whole life and has been deeply grounded within the classics of country music from a young age. And with new single out, Hair of the Dog, The Fountain caught up with Allie to discuss the new track and her plans for the year.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Hair of the Dog?
I do! So far it’s been super positive! I think there are a lot of people out there that can resonate with this story. It’s so lovely to see people connecting with my music so early on in my journey!
TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?
We all know what it means to have a hair of the dog to cure a hangover, but I wanted to capture that feeling, of having one more taste of the thing that hurt you in the first place in the hopes that then you can finally move on from it … but in the context of a relationship.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year?
We’re gearing up for more live performances and shows! Some solo performances, and lots of support shows! I’m so excited! Plus, we’ll be planning the release date for the EP soon!
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
I’m not sure I have a favourite yet. I’m just so grateful to perform my music live whenever and wherever I can! I of course have big dreams of performing on the Opry stage… hopefully one day. My next show is Saturday 28th August at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Trafalgar Square, that should be super fun!
