Everywhere she goes, Billboard AC Top 30 singer/songwriter Em carries a ring on her finger emblazoned with one word: Truth. This ring is a resounding symbol of her arrival into knowledge of self as a young woman who has been a recording and performing artist since the age of twelve. With new single, Say What You Mean, out and word of an album The Fountain caught up with Em to discuss the new music and the plans.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Say What You Mean?

Yes, Say What You Mean was my first single to hit radio and has charted 24 on Billboard Adult Contemporary.. it has been well received with the video being added to MTV Spankin New and I’m very grateful and honoured.. the single Hear Your Love out now has reached 22 on Billboard and the love and support for these records have just shocked me.. its amazing.

TF: And can you sum up the track in one sentence?

Say What You Mean is a heartfelt, melancholic and ethereal record about a woman drawing her line in the sand of what she won’t tolerate in a relationship no matter how strong and deep the feelings go.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, I note an LP?

Yes, we are working on the release of the album Say What You Mean and Hear Your Love are a part of.. entitled Dear Life. It is set to release in October and a performance on the way! We have merch for the records and vinyl coming as well!

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

I’ve played in Philly and New York in little clubs but now I feel ready to share my music with the world, truly.. I can say all these venues but I think honestly even with my ambitions for Madison Square or Staple Center.. I love the intimacy so much where you can hear yourself and the audience.. I think it’s genuinely about the audience and their energy.. you can have one superfan in the crowd and it can just make your night.. I think the journey has just begun on that front.. now that I have music I’m so proud and excited to share.. I know I will be all over and I cannot wait to perform for those who have been loving and supporting the music.. that is what matters.
