Not only have JW Paris dropped blistering new single Sober, the ascending alternative-rock duo also welcome a new member behind the kit: Gemma Clarke. A founding member of Babyshambles, The Krak and The Suffrajets, Gemma is pleased to join Aaron Forde and Danny Collins as a permanent fixture of JW Paris. The Fountain caught up with the band to discuss the new music.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Sober?
We’ve had an amazing response. Its feels great to release new music, especially in the current times. Gives us so much excitement! And can’t thank everyone enough for their support! In regards to streams, Sober was over 1000 within a week, which may not seem much to some bands but for us that was huge!
TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?
A dip into those sobering moments of realisation.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release, I noted an EP?
There’s whispers of an EP, we’ve been making a lot of noise behind these closed doors! But most of all… Gigs, gigs, gigs!
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
Speaking of… We’ve played a lot of amazing venues from The Horn in St Albans, WerkHaus in London, Hope and ruin in Brighton, Le Truskel in Paris! just to name a few! I think our next smooth move would be to get on some main line festival stages! That’s the dream.
