Following up on the February release of Lightning, the leading single from their upcoming EP Thread In The Dark, due for release this Summer, comes Dawn Chorus, the latest single from Bristol-based atmospheric Alt-Pop quartet Ålesund. The Fountain caught up with the band to discuss the new music as well as the exciting prospect of gigging in the near future.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Dawn Chorus?
It’s been lovely, we’ve had people sharing where they’ve been listening to it which has been so nice! Overlooking beautiful landscapes, in the garden with their own real life bird song in the background, on headphones out in the sunshine. It’s nice to hear.
TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?
A celebration of life, both nature and human entwined.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?
We’ve started booking gigs again!! So just getting some Autumn dates lined up, if things continue to go well in the UK hopefully we playing live will be a reality before too long.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
One of our all time favourite spots to play is the festival venue The People’s Front Room, we had some festivals lined up for this summer, however it seems we may have to wait out another year before we get back to playing back in that magical venue. But good things come to those who wait I guess…!
