Alt-pop dreamer, Travi The Native, follows up the critical and commercial success of COOL with new single Love Doesn’t Stand A Chance, which came out on 25th March. The first single to be released from his forthcoming EP God Only Calls The House Phone, which is out 29 April, The Fountain caught up with Travi to discuss the new music and plans for later in the year.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Love Doesn’t Stand A Chance?

The reception has been great. It’s always nerve wracking putting a song out of course, and not knowing how it will land, but I’m feeling a lot of love for LDSAC so far. People seem to dig it.

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

The kind of honest, emotional love song that you probably wouldn’t play at a pre-drink.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?

Well the EP is out next so working towards that release and all that comes after that. A few more singles and music videos and then, all being well, some real life gigs.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

I’ve been lucky to play some bucket list venues in my lifetime so probably one of those. The paradiso in Amsterdam, Élysées Montmartre in Paris, Omera London.. there’s too many sick venues haha. To be honest though, the next place I’m looking forward to playing the most is here in Belfast. I’m so excited to do my first Belfast show – I’ve spent so long inside I can’t wait to get out and hang with everyone again and dance. Wherever it is.
