Fox and Bones are back with their foot-stomping new single, Call Your Mother. While a lot of songs about parents can be slower, and ballad-like, Fox and Bones wanted to create an energetic track that makes even the pickiest of listeners want to get up and dance in celebration of their mothers. The band spoke with The Fountain about the track and their plans for the year in more depth.
TF: You have a new single coming out, what has the reception been like to Call Your Mother so far?
We can say for certain that our moms love it!
TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?
An enthusiastic rock ‘n’ roll thank you to our moms for all they’ve done for us.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?
We feel confident that we will be able to start playing out more starting this summer, and we may even do a small US tour in the fall. It’s hard to say for certain since things still seem to be very up in the air, but a return to playing live would be the dream!
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
There is no better energy in Portland than at the Crystal Ballroom, where we hold our annual festival, the Portland Folk Festival, every January. We had to cancel the 2021 festival, but we are on the books for January 2022 and we are already looking forward to getting back on that stage!
