Ireland’s new hotly tipped alt-pop queen, FYA FOX has released her second single, Body is out now. FYA FOX is the exciting new prospect from Ireland spinning tightly wound yarns of brooding and emotive alt-pop. A classically trained vocalist straying beyond Irelands traditional country/folk scene, FYA’s influences span from Banks, Lana Del Rey and London Grammar. FYA spoke with The Fountain about the new track as well as her plans for the year.

TF: You have a new single out, what can we expect from Body?

Body is definitely more upbeat than my debut release White Lies. Everything builds and leads to the hook in the chorus! I loved this chorus so much!

TF: How would you sum up the record in one sentence?

A sad banger!

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?

I’m excited about 2021, although it’s still a little uncertain I’ve been working on the next single. Seems weird chatting about the next single after just releasing! Would love the chance to perform live, so fingers crossed!

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

Probably the last venue I gigged in because I didn’t realise how long it would be without gigs, it’s called the Crowbar, a really small intimate bar in Dublin. At the minute, I’d be happy to perform anywhere!!!
