After recently releasing her debut album, London-born Dublin-based singer-songwriter Anna B Savage has shared the video for her single Baby Grand. Savage’s debut album ‘A Common Turn‘ is out now via City Slang and she will hopefully be touring the UK & Europe throughout October and November. The Fountain caught up with Anna to discuss her new video as well as plans for 2021.

TF: You have a recent video out for Baby Grand, how has the reception been for that?

Much better than anticipated. I was worried about it being a strange music promo as it also works as a trailer for the upcoming film, but people have been really receptive to it, and it’s drummed up support of and anticipation for the film more than I’d hoped. I’ve had a lot of people messaging me about it, which normally means something’s been good.

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

Its a documenting of how difficult it is to reach out a hand and breach the divide between two people.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, just releasing your album?

Well, the album is out now so continuing to do things in support of that. The film is also coming out, as mentioned above. I’ve also got a big headline UK & European tour planned. I’m finishing off a masters and also trying to get cracking with album number two. So, quite a bit really.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

I don’t have an obvious or overarching favourite but I LOVE The Castle in Manchester because it houses so many memories for me, so I’m really looking forwards to being back there. I also can’t wait to play in Vega in Copenhagen because their spread is *chef’s kiss* unreal – last time I was there I was supporting Father John Misty in the main room and we had a dessert consisting of brownies with edible flowers on top. Gorgeous. (Now hoping that not playing the main room I still get the catering… we shall see!)
