Bristol-based atmospheric Alt-Pop quartet, Ålesund, have just released their latest single Lightning, which came out on February 26th. The single is taken from their upcoming EP A Thread In The Dark, which is due for release in the Spring, the follow up to 2020’s All Hail To Your Queen. The band spoke with The Fountain about the new track as well as plans for the year.

TF: You have a new single due out, what has the reception been like to Lightning so far?

We debuted a live version of it last week on our live stream gig and there was a lot of great feedback which is always a great feeling (and a relief!)

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

Good things can come out of uncertain times if you believe in it/yourself/others enough.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release, I note an EP?

Yes! We have lots of new music coming over the next few months, Lightning is just the start. We are looking forward to sharing everything we have been busy working on.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

We played at such a brilliant venue called Acapella Studios just outside of Cardiff last year on tour. It’s a converted chapel and it was really special, I would love to play there again. But to be honest I’ve missed playing live SO much, I’m looking forward to playing anywhere!
