Following the release of the Leicester trio’s late 2020 bombastic and sultry single, Bad News, Dark Bloom are continuing to push the boundaries of their artistic palette with their upcoming single, Daydream. With the new single out the band spoke with The Fountain about their plans for 2021.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Daydream?

We haven’t actually released the single yet but Daydream will be out on 18th February! We’ve been waiting to release this track for a while and we’re really looking forward to seeing everyone’s reactions to the change in style between this song and our last single, Bad News. Daydream is our most personal track yet and we’re hoping that it will resonate with people in the same way it does with us.

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

Your new favourite go to sad song from your emo playlist to listen to at night.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?

We’re planning on releasing some more material throughout the year! Sadly, we’re still at the mercy of the COVID-19 pandemic but we’re still all really eager to get back together to play some shows and make some new music.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

Our favourite venue is definitely The Key Club in Leeds. Leeds is one our favourite cities and the venue is just an amazing place to be. Everyone there is really nice and we can’t wait to play there again soon!

We’re still unsure where we’ll be gigging at next because of the pandemic, but we’re looking forward to playing in loads of new cities and meeting some great people along on the way. Our guitarist (Robbie) has always wanted to go Brighton so maybe we’ll be able to crowbar that into our upcoming plans!

Daydream is out on 18th February 2021
