Stonehaven have recently shared their recent single, The Colours Inside My Mind. Drawing inspiration from a wide scope of influences, ranging from; Bring Me The Horizon to Balance and Composure and Slaves, the Brisbane four-piece offers their distinctive and fresh take on rock; interweaving massive drums and distorted guitars, with intimate vocals and positive, hopeful lyricism. They spoke with The Fountain about the single as well upcoming plans.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to The Colours?

We’re really overwhelmed with the response so far – outside of a lot of obvious indicators like play count and new followers and stuff, we’ve got a lot of messages and shows of support and love for the song and our band. For a debut single it’s awesome to see and it just makes us want to work even harder for the next release.

TF: How would you sum up the single in one sentence?

It’s energetic, anthemic, heavy, and melodic all at once.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?

We’ve got a music video in the works and another single that we want to get to everyone ASAP. We’re prioritising the studio over live gigs right now with the whole pandemic thing, but plan to launch into a release tour for the next single if things have cleared up!

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

You can’t really go wrong with a Brightside gig here in Brisbane. Something about the energy in that room is really special. Mitch says the next place he looks forward to gigging is Suncorp Stadium which holds 52,500 so … we’ll have to see about that one.
