Northwest have made a new video for their song Before the Spell, which is included on their second album. The video was shot a few months ago in Northern Spain and it’s a homage to the work of film directors like Bergman and Tarkovski. The band spoke with The Fountain about the track and their plans for this year.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Before The Spell?

Surprisingly very good. We were afraid people wouldn’t like it because it’s a very weird track, more on the jazz / experimental spectrum than our previous singles but the reactions have been very positive so far and a lot of people have told us it is in fact one of their favourite tracks from the album, so we’re very happy.

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

A gentle and enchanted whisper.

TF: What is your plan for 2021, after this release?

We’re celebrating Reflection‘s five year anniversary with a very special video, we’re writing new material for a possible new record, we’re also going to release a series of live videos from a concert we did in a very cool and big leaky industrial unit and hopefully, next year, we can tour again.

TF: Where would you ideally want to perform if you could choose any venue?

In the middle of a forest, full of fairy lights, experimental video art projections and people dressed up with venetian masks as in Eyes Wide Shut.
