Formed in 2019, Fairway are an energetically charged outfit hailing from London, who released their highly anticipated second single Without You last month. This Alt Rock four piece presents a distinguishably unique fusion of rap infused Alt Rock/Pop Punk – mixing thick sounding guitars, heartfelt lyrical content and melodious vocal hooks/harmonies/flow. The band spoke with The Fountain about the new single as well as plans for the new year.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Without You?
Surprisingly good! We are extremely happy with/proud of our music, but didn’t expect as much good feedback as we’ve had! Loads of positive reactions from people asking about it, pre-saving and letting us know that they’re excited for it. It’s been really cool to know people are hyped for it as much as we are!
TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?
HUGE energy! We tried to create a wash of big sounding meaty guitars, a huge rhythmic section and powerful vocals. It’s a super energetic and fun song to play live, too!
TF: What is your plan for 2021, after this release?
We’ll be releasing a few more tracks over the first part of 2021 including our songs 3am Friend and The Deep End – so we’re really looking forward to that!
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
There are many! The UK is such a great place for grassroots venues…
If we had to choose, we’ll say The Fiddlers Elbow in Camden. We welcomed the start of this year with a sold out gig supporting our good friends in Double A and it was honestly such a fun show! The venue, and staff, are awesome! It’d be great to take a moment here to shout out Save Our Venues, who have been doing such an incredible job at helping to keep independent British music venues alive during the Covid 19 pandemic!
