One of Scotland’s best-kept musical secrets, Charlie Clark, is pleased to announce a brand new single, Don’t Have A Cow, Man!. The track offers a first glimpse of Clark’s forthcoming debut solo album: Late Night Drinking, to be released later in 2021 via Alan McGee’s latest label venture It’s Creation Baby. Charlie spoke with The Fountain about the new track and filming on Lewis.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Don’t Have A Cow Man!?

So far, so good and very positive. It’s quite an upbeat song and after the year we’ve all had I hope it’s a little rey of sunshine for folks. The video was shot on the most beautiful day of the year we had on Lewis last year, so the scenery is beautiful, and I prance about in a cow costume so we’ll wait and see what the response on the video is!

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

A cautionary tale to prove there’s still hope even when all your score cards read 0.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release, did I note an album?

There’s another single coming out in May with the album (LATE NIGHT DRINKING) to follow in June, all on Alan McGees new record label It’s Creation Baby! I have shows and some Festival dates both here and in the US for the later part of 2021 so fingers crossed that’ll happen.

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

My favourite venue to play is the venue I worked at in Los Angeles, Harvard & Stone. The sound is terrible but it’s atmosphere is unbeatable on a packed night. Hoping to get back there.

Don’t Have A Cow, Man! is out on 5th February, via It’s Creation Baby!
