Vote For Me is the new single from Manchester’s The Trend, a politically charged power pop anthem that critiques democracy and delves into the political issues we all currently face. Combining catchy rock ‘n’ roll riffs, lead singer Rev’s vocals and clips from political speeches this track has it all. The band spoke with The Fountain about the track and their eager willingness to play live.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Vote for Me?
Yes our new single Vote For Me US ELECTION remix is officially available now. The reception has been fabulous so far with DJs from Sweden, America and the UK contacting me personally on social media requesting a copy. We have just finished recording and editing a video to go with it and the response has been ace.
TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?
A politically charged powerpop song that shows how the politicians of all sides are blatant liars.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?
Well obviously in the current situation we won’t be doing any gigs. We are enjoying recording our videos so we are gonna spend the tail end of this year working on other video ideas for the tracks on our latest album Bella Vega.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
The Trend love playing live and we are missing it so much. We don’t really have a favourite place as we have gigged up and down the country but I do know that whatever size small or large you get 100% from us. We look forward to playing anywhere next year, we just want to play.
