Happy on the Inside is the most recent and raw single from singer-songwriter, Eleanor Hickey. Eleanor’s songs are a distinct take on the R&B/ Pop cross over. At only 22 years old, the singer has already obtained a degree in Popular Music and was filmed by BBC Scotland performing her debut single I’m Tired for Emelie Sande’s Street Symphony Orchestra. With new track out, The Fountain caught up with Eleanor to talk about new single and plans after Covid.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Happy on the Inside?
I do indeed! I’m blown away by the response, everyone has been really loving it and adding it to their playlists! So I’m chuffed!
TF: How would you sum up the single in one sentence?
Happy on the Inside deals with the painful emotions of grief, portrayed in a surprisingly upbeat and beautifully raw song.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?
I’m continuing to write new music that will be released in the new year! So keep your eyes peeled!
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
I’m arranging my calendar for 2021 and will be looking to book more live gigs and recordings, once everything opens back up again that is!
