Dayze (aka Heriberto Delgado Jr.) is a Mexican American musician who grew up in a Calexico, a town on the US/Mexico border. Growing up, he commuted between the USA and Mexico on a daily basis. With new track out, My Way, Dayze spoke with The Fountain about the reception it has received thus far as well as some of his favourite venues.

TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to My Way?

Overall, reception has been pretty positive! Most people who have reached out have said very positive and constructive things. I hope that as time passes by, more people can enjoy the track and share their thoughts with me.

TF: How would you sum up the track in one sentence?

A reflection of my emotions when I was going through a very tough time.

TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single release?

The next thing on the agenda is to start recording a second music video before the year ends that way, I can have better momentum when the year starts!

TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?

My favourite venue I ever played was the Whiskey a Go Go. When I set foot on that stage, I felt like a rock star and the whole crew in that venue made sure that you sounded like a rock star too. To be honest, as Dayze, I have not played live so I’m looking forward to playing any venue and start meeting people from all over the world.
