Since forming in the early stages of 2019, before completing their line-up in 2020, Suave Martyrs have gone from strength to strength, quickly building their reputation as one of Manchester’s most exciting prospects. Such was the buzz following their first show (a support slot at Manchester’s iconic Deaf Institute with Alan McGee’s Alias Kid) that their first headline at the much-missed Jimmy’s sold out in less than 24 hours. With new single Tell Me What You Wanna, The Fountain caught up with the band to discuss the new single and their desire to crack on with video content.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Tell Me What You Wanna?
The reception has been great, especially on the radio. The song uses some more pop hooks than our other tunes and so I think it’s more accessible from the first listen.
TF: How would you sum up the single in one sentence?
It’s a groove.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this release?
We are going to be working to promote the single hopefully with some new video content, work on a new single and hopefully get some gigs sorted for when we are allowed to again!
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
We loved playing the Deaf Institute, it had a great energy and you can’t go wrong with a disco ball. In terms of venues we would love to play we would love to get to Brudenell Social Club in Leeds and the Ritz in Manchester.
