Last Night From Glasgow’s imprint ‘Hive’ is excited to release Lizabett Russo‘s new album, While I Sit Here and Watch This Tree Volume 1, which was done so on 27th November. The LP will be available worldwide, digitally and on vinyl. LNFG first caught wind of the artist when she opened for Gracious Losers. She has supported other acclaimed acts such as Trembling Bells and Rachel Sermanni and Tim Edey. Lizabett spoke with The Fountain about the new record as well as her visions for a Volume 2.
TF: You have a new album out, what has the reception been like to While I Sit Here and Watch This Tree Vol 1?
While I Sit Here and Watch This Tree has been a different kind of album for me as I was working and recording everything from home during lockdown. The people who listened to the songs on the radio enjoyed the spontaneity, the feeling and the messages that I was conveying through sound.
TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?
Sounds of freedom and change.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this LP release?
This album is just Volume 1 so there will be a Volume 2 at some point. My next plan and project is to grow a medicinal herb garden and work with the plants to convey their message and essence through songs.
TF: Where is your favourite venue for playing live, where is the next place you look most forward to gigging?
I miss playing live so much! Nothing compares with exchanging energies with an audience. I have many favourite venues but I like playing at Traverse Theatre In Edinburgh a lot.
