Cults, aka multi-instrumentalist/singer Madeline Follin and multi-instrumentalist Brian Oblivion, announce their fourth studio album Host out September 18 via Sinderlyn. Along with the announcement, the duo have released their second single Trials, a single that focuses on the power that addictions and harmful ideologies have to transform. The pair spoke with The Fountain about the track and the new album.
TF: You have a new single out, what has the reception been like to Trials?
It has been great! As far as we have seen people have had a really positive response to it.
TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?
Just what we had hoped for.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single release, I can see there is an LP release on the cards?
We are releasing an LP in September and will keep on writing all year. Hopefully we will do more virtual sessions and shows as well!
TF: And when you get back gigging is there a favourite venue that you are desperate to play next?
We are so excited to get back out on the road. At this point we are desperate to play every venue and want to see them all make it through this pandemic!
