TF: You have a new single out, tell us more, what has the reception been like so far?
The reception has been incredible so far! It’s been awhile since I released new music, and I was so excited to see that people really dig the new direction of my music.
TF: How would you sum it up in one sentence?
The new single, Hunter is about staying true to who you are no matter who wants to push you down.
TF: Who do you look to and idolise when it comes to influences?
Well, I have so many heroes in music that are all over the place… from John Prine to Sharon Van Etten. With the recent passing of John Prine, he leaves a gaping hole for great lyricism in song writing, and I will always look to him for the humor and beauty of the common place parts of life. I love the ever evolving nature of Sharon Van Etten’s music, she is a true renaissance woman, and really inspires me to push myself not only as a musician, but as an artist in general. I have many more I could list, but I would have to write a book on all of the artists that inspire me.
TF: What is your plan for the remainder of the year, after this single release?
Let’s just say there is more music on the horizon that I am thrilled to release in the world. I have a string of dates opening up for Brittany Howard in Auumn! This is the longest I have gone in years without playing live shows and I can’t wait to be back on the road, once it’s safe for us to do so! But for now I’m putting together some online shows and trying to stay connected to others during these ever changing days.
