Yur Mum is a two-piece rock band based in London, UK. Formed by vocalist and bassist Anelise Kunz and drummer Fabio Couto. The band recently self released the EP Ellipsis, which they spoke with The Fountain about in more depth.
TF: You have a new EP out, that must be exciting?
It’s a mix of excitement and distress, but let’s focus on the good things.
TF: And what has been the reception been like to Ellipsis, can you elaborate on what inspired the crux of it?
The reception has been really positive and people have been quite vocal about it at gigs and online. This release is happening during a transition period for us and we suppose that can be noticed on the lyrics.
TF: And how do you feel this differs from previous releases?
We think we’re finally finding our voice and our sound.
TF: Can we look forward to seeing you live soon, touring with it anytime soon, particularly here in Scotland?
Of course, honey! Mama’s coming to Scotland in April. We should confirm the dates and venues soon so make sure you subscribe to our mailing list on our website or follow us on social media.
TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?
Every gig is memorable in its own way. However, we’ve recently become a two-piece band and our first show was supporting New Model Army at The Electric Ballroom. Had that gig been a failure we don’t know how we’d be able to carry on, so we guess that marked the beginning of a new chapter for the band.
