Agatha Christie is missing, and ace detective, Miss Clarissa Marbles, still needs your help in solving the crime. Was it the cook, the husband, the secret admirer – or you? Everyone is a suspect in this fun-filled interactive murder mystery. If you have any skeletons in your closet, she’ll find out. And of course, don’t hesitate to inform on your neighbours. Prudence Wright Holmes, who performs in this Augusts Fringe show, Agatha is Missing! spoke with The Fountain about her plans for the festival.

TF: You are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, how exciting?

I’m performing in the Edinburgh Fringe because I had a great time last year.

TF: Agatha Is Missing! certainly sounds intriguing, what is the premise?

Agatha is Missing! is an interactive murder mystery based on the real-life disappearance of Agatha Christie in 1926 when her husband asked her for a divorce to marry another woman. Audience members are all suspects. They are interrogated by Ace Detective Miss Clarissa Marbles about their criminal past. Be afraid! Be very afraid!!

TF: And what drove the project, where did your influences lie?

My influences were tenrty years of being in a murder mystery company and my fascination with Agatha Christie and her disappearance. I saw the movie with Vanessa Redgrave and wanted to know more.. So I did a lot of research on the subject. My many years in the murder mystery company made me love playing with the audience

TF: What are your plans for the Fringe, having been before are there any tips or musts you would offer to first-time performers?

I was there last year. Advice is just to see everything you can. Stay in town rather than a suburb. It’s really very thrilling to be in such a theatrical Mecca of the universe with so much talent. Every actor should go at least once. I’m very interested in seeing my friend Paul Birchard’s show The Pat Hobby Stories

TF: And what are your future plans beyond Agatha Is Missing!?

More performances in the US. I have been doing it with great success for four years. I’m looking for a producer. That’s my goal for the show: to perform off Broadway on a weekly basis.

You can see Agatha is Missing! at Gilded Balloon Tevoit from 8th – 26th August at 14:30. For tickets, please visit
