Jonny Pelham has something to say that’s usually off-limits for dating, family gatherings, hanging out with mates and most social situations really… So what better place to talk about it than in a comedy show with a bunch of strangers? Off Limits is a personal, provocative and hilarious hour at Just the Tonic at the Caves. Jonny spoke with The Fountain about his drivers behind the show.

TF: Off Limits certainly sounds intriguing, what is the premise?

After three critically acclaimed stand-up shows, this show will be my most personal, provocative and political hour yet. The show explores taboos around abuse and male sexuality with a matter of fact candour and originality… all while being laugh-out-loud funny.

TF: And what drove the project, where did your influences lie?

A couple of years ago I went to therapy, I processed a lot of stuff and it changed me a lot as a person. I wanted to talk about that in a stand-up show.

TF: What are your plans for the Fringe?

I don’t really have any plans for Edinburgh. Just get up there and do the show. I am looking forward to seeing Kate Lucas and Eleanor Tiernan. Both are brilliant comedians and I can’t wait to see their shows.

TF: And what are your future plans beyond Off Limits?

I would love to take the show on tour.

You can see Jonny Pelham: Off Limits at Just the Tonic at the Caves until 25th August at 15:20. For tickets, go to
