This year double act Katie Norris & Sinead Parker will return to the Edinburgh Festival Pleasance Courtyard with their much anticipated new show, Burn the Witch after a year’s hiatus from the Fringe.

Katie and Sinead spoke to The Fountain about what drove the project and also provided tips to Fringe newcomers on what they must do.

TF: You are performing at the Edinburgh Fringe this year, how exciting?

KN: Fear and financial concerns are my current emotions but once our parents give the show their seal of approval I’m sure excitement will follow.

SP: I’m excited for a battered rib, I’ve missed those tasty b*st*rds.

TF: The show certainly sounds intriguing, what is the premise?

KN: The action is set in Phallus Ridge, a northern town where the cliffs are shaped like penises and sex witches are coming for the men and the horny goats.

SP: Our recent breakups will also feature whether the audience want to hear about them or not.

TF: And what drove the project, where did your influences lie?

Said breakups, witchcraft, goats, voodoo pussies, vulnerable men and our fathers who are certainly not vulnerable.

TF: What are your plans for the Fringe, having been before are there any tips or musts you would offer to first-time performers?

SP: Always get off with a rickshaw driver early on to ensure free travel during your time at the festival. Get plenty of rest before you go so you don’t have to spend twenty hours a day in bed because you are worn out and fragile.

KN: Climb arthurs seat and accidentally flash your tits to a group of elderly ramblers who climbed the seat quicker than you did because you’re so worn out and fragile.

TF: Have you been to the Fringe before, is there anything you are keen to see whilst in Edinburgh?

Lou Sanders, Lauren Pattison, Natalie Palamides.

TF: And what are your future plans beyond The Fringe?

KN: Separate holidays, a debt repayment plan and a bitter divorce.

SP: A Soho run, a tour of Australian festivals and a tv show would also be lovely.

Norris & Parker: Burn The Witch, Pleasance Courtyard – Beneath, 10.45pm, 5th – 26th August (except 4th)
