Chainska Brassika have announced that they will be heading out on a UK tour in November, which includes Glasgow’s Hug and Pint. The London based eight-piece will no doubt bring the party to Glasgow, with their high-energy live show.

The band spoke with The Fountain about performing to Scottish crowds, their festival plans for the summer as well as what we can expect from this Glasgow performance.

TF: An Autumn tour announced with a gig in Glasgow’s Hug and Pint, how exciting, what can we expect?

One big party! We can’t wait to get on the road for what will be our only UK tour of the year. We’ll be touring a new show – unheard fresh songs, bringing back some old favourites and a healthy dose of our latest album Harry J Business. Safe to say we guarantee we’ll being doing everything in our powers to get the entire venue bouncing like nutters…

TF: And have you played in Glasgow before, what kind of reception do you get from the Glasgow crowd?

Glasgow, and Scotland in general, have some of the craziest crowds we’ve ever played to. Beers flying, crowd surfers, mosh pits, you name it – Scotland does it. More of the same please Glasgow crew!

TF: And what has been your favourite gig to date, your favourite city to perform in?

Playing to 5,000 people at Glastonbury Festival last year has got to be up there with a stadium tour supporting Madness and touring Jamaica. The wonderful city of Paris and your classic sweaty London ska show have got to be up there (with Glasgow of course).

TF: And of course it is that time of year, are you performing at lots of festivals this summer?

Festivals are our second home… We’ll be hitting another great run of European festivals in Belgium, the Netherlands, Jersey & Ireland as well as exclusive UK appearances at Bestival, Wilkeswood Reggae Festival, FloVibe & Falmouth Reggae Festival. Time to get the beers in…

TF: And will Toots be making a surprise appearance?

Despite the offer of the comfiest seat in our yellow van and unlimited packed lunches sadly Toots decided he’d prefer to tour with The Maytals instead this autumn. However we will be opening for him at Alexandra Palace in London on 8th Sept if you fancy a trip down south, the full lineup is incredible.

Chainska Brassika will be performing at The Hug and Pint, Glasgow, on 2nd November 2018.
