Blackjack Love, the brainchild of Azza Sergent, who was former songwriter and lead guitarist of The Brompton Mix, have dropped another track from debut album, Bullets & Blues.
Azza spoke with The Fountain about working with Jon Astley, his favourite gig to date and he hints at something of a tour.
TF: A new single release, how exciting, what can we expect?
Yeah, Carryin’ On from my debut album Bullets & Blues. Expect some Rock n Roll! Hopefully something that will inspire people to play or learn an instrument, something people will enjoy.
TF: And you worked with Jon Astley for this record, how was that?
Jon was quality! Such a nice bloke, really enjoyed working with him. Top man. I’ll be working with him again on another record I’m producing, so I’m looking forward to that.
TF: Are you going to be promoting this with a tour, are we likely to see you play live soon?
Yeah, I will be sorting a tour out soon. I’m in the middle of getting players as I recorded most the album myself haha.
TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?
Favourite? Probably Indig02 or supporting Stiff Little Fingers. Seems like forever ago now!
TF: And what is allowing you to carry on rockin rollin right now?
The day job……for now!
