Born in Kingston Jamaica and raised in South London Adreyn started singing and writing songs at the age of six. Adreyn calls himself an alternative soul musician and has just dropped new single, Angel’s Lie featuring 169.

Adreyn spoke with The Fountain about working with 169 and his favourite gig to date.

TF: A new single release, how exciting, what can we expect?

You can expect more innovation, more creativity, subject knowledge and fun exciting new music.

TF: And you previously worked with 169, how was that?

I worked with mainstream acts such as 169 who is known for his work with Santan Dave, Craig David, Ramz and, Stormzy. The experience working with 169 was incredible, we created a song called How You Feel, that song was hot and set the foundation for my single, Angel’s Lie, to which 169 is also featured. I was also featured on his debut EP, Seasons, on a track called Energy.

TF: Are you going to be promoting this with a tour, are we likely to see you play live soon?

Yes, I will definitely be doing more live performances towards the end of the year, and with a live band which will be very fun me to be creative and interactive with my audience.

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

Performing at the O2 Indigo supporting Dionne Bromfield and Tinchy Stryder.

TF: And what more can we expect from you, an EP or LP this year?

I am excited to release the Illusion EP which is a six track follow up to the previous project Demarrer released in 2017. Illusions features a range of sounds and unique styles which will show my elements of alternative soul music. I’m also working with a charity in August called Youth Realities which I am a co-director. I will be on a three day “Talk & Chill” youth course sharing safe advice about how to deal with their issues with domestic violence, with my own history of domestic violence I also help coach them with that.
