With the release of her new EP, This Rapture, and her Autumn tour, Brooke Bentham has been making news and working hard in 2017.

She took some time out to speak with The Fountain about this new record, what it was like to work with Ben Baptie (who has also worked with Adele and Daughter), and her favourite gig to date.

TF: You must be ecstatic about the release of your new EP?

Yeah it’s really nice to finally have it out, I’ve been sitting on some of these songs for a while.

TF: Where did the inspiration come from for the title, This Rapture?

It’s taken from my song If I Was Dead and the whole EP is kind of about how I deal with being in a relationship (which is ‘the rapture’ if you will).

TF: What was it like to work with Ben Baptie?

So great. I love that man so much. He’s really easy to work with and we have a lot of the same ideas so it just flows. We’ll be telling each other to shut up at least six times a day though, he needs to watch his sass.

TF: What has been your favourite gig to date?

Probably the Newcastle shows we’ve done. Living in London means my family don’t get to see me much and they’d never seen me play with a band until June this year. It’s like a real big family reunion and those gigs are always so comfortable and nice.
